FFaithWellBeingConnect

Faith. Well-Being. Connect.

This ministry-support project is designed to listen to the lived experiences of Black or African American individuals who worship with a church, understand the ministry support services they value, and explore ministers’ willingness to build trusted relationships with mental health professionals who can provide additional support when needed. The insights gathered will help churches reimagine ministry, strengthen care, and develop informed, compassionate, and collaborative responses to the needs of their members, worshipers, ministers, and communities.

Listen

Hear what matters to the people you serve.

The Personal Life Events Questionnaire gives Black or African American adults who worship with a church an opportunity to share the life experiences, challenges, support needs, and ministry services that matter to them.

Listen to their experiences. Learn what support they value. Use what you learn to reimagine ministry and create programs, resources, referrals, and care that respond to their real needs.

For Churches & Congregations — Understand Your Church Community

Churches can invite their members and those who worship with them—in person or online—to complete the Personal Life Events Questionnaire. Collective responses can generate a church-specific report highlighting patterns and themes to help leaders understand their congregation, identify needs, reimagine ministry, and strengthen care.

About the Founder

Dr. D. Fredrica Brooks-Davis

Since the age of 16, Dr. D. Fredrica Brooks-Davis has carried a God-given vision to bridge the gap between faith and mental health.

In 2006, her then-pastor and now Pastor Emeritus, Reverend Dr. Lee P. Washington, hired her as a consultant to develop a professional counseling center for Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church. That vision became Reid Temple Restoration Center, Inc., a pioneering faith-based professional counseling and training center.

In 2008, her dissertation, An Examination of the Help-Seeking Behaviors of African American Parishioners, further examined the intersection of faith, help-seeking, and mental health.

Today, Faith. Well-Being. Connect. represents the next chapter of this lifelong calling—shaped by decades of clinical practice, research, ministry, and community experience.
